Four-piece outfit dishing out laid-back grooves with introspective, defiant rap flows on urban realism, making waves at festivals and gearing up for their upcoming debut album.

The Couch Club is a four-piece R&B/hip-hop/alt-pop outfit from Bandung, Indonesia, made up of Vai Siagian (producer/bassist), Ghifari “Gallyglitch” Mamora (rapper/songwriter), Belva Prabowo (rapper/songwriter), and Atria Lintang (vocalist/rapper).

Their sound blends laid-back grooves with slick rap flows, lush harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics that speak to resilience and unity; capturing a generation looking for connection. They’ve released standout tracks like Dawn (2020), Beacon (2021), Out of Love (2021), Intermezzo (The Bleach Club) (2021), Throw It All (2022), and most recently Can’t See Us (2023), which mark their growth from soulful summer vibes to purposeful, mature statements.

Formed around 2020 in Bandung, they carved out a signature fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and alternative vibes. Their first single, Dawn, is a hazy, late-night cruise through urban solitude and introspection. With nods to '90s hip-hop, the lyrics evoke a drifting, dusk-to-dawn atmosphere filled with boredom, blunt honesty, and emotional numbness.

Their next release, Beacon, is a gritty fusion of alternative hip-hop, trap, and DIY indie rap that tackles themes of self-assertion, resilience after rejection, street-level ambition, and a defiant call for authenticity.

Contrary to the previous release, Out of Love is hip-hop meets alternative R&B number with lo-fi production that is melancholic, atmospheric, and emotionally raw. The song reflects on heartbreak, emotional detachment, and the lingering pain of a failed relationship.

In 2021, they brought their sound to life on stage and on air. They performed in intimate club spaces and spoke their truth through radio interviews, steadily building a presence beyond the streaming platforms.

In December 2021, they teamed up with hardcore band Bleach on the split EP Intermezzo, released via La Munai Records. The release was conceived as a cross-genre conversation that challenged assumptions about musical identity and community. It merged Bleach’s raw aggression and fast-tempo riffing with The Couch Club’s layered synths, vocal sampling, and chopped percussion reminiscent of late-night rave culture.

In March 2022, the group took part in “Couch In The White House”, a collaborative project that brought together rising alternative acts under one roof. Their contribution, “Throw It All”, is a joint track with fellow genre-benders White Chorus and BLEU HOUSE. The release was also tied to a limited-edition merch drop, created through a partnership between Microgram Entertainment and local streetwear label 3.4.7. The collaboration extended the project’s visual and cultural reach, emphasizing the collective's attention to aesthetic storytelling and cross-platform presence. Pophariini

They continued to earn spots on larger stages and higher-profile events, including Synchronize Fest 2022, signaling their growing influence and rising stature within the scene.

In 2023, The Couch Club released Can’t See Us, a bold and self-assured anthem that speaks directly to themes of invisibility, self-worth, and defiant potential. The track fused atmospheric R&B textures with hip-hop-influenced percussion and shimmering electronic flourishes, showcasing the duo’s evolving sound and confidence in their sonic identity.

Throughout 2024 and into 2025, The Couch Club continued to build momentum with a steady stream of live performances across select venues and festivals. Alongside the tour, several singles are in the works and the debut album quietly taking shape. While details remain under wraps, the group hints it will be their most cohesive and personal project to date.
