Toxicdev! is an Indonesian hyperpop musician who transforms the electrifying energy of street racing and urban nightlife into dynamic, genre-blurring tracks. Rooted in house music and shaped by the aesthetic of punk, dangdut, and digital DIY culture, his sound is a high-octane blend of fast tempos, bold beats, and emotional resonance. The result is a highly intoxicating brew that is both hyper-local and globally attuned.
His turning point came with releases that pushed genre boundaries while tapping into deep cultural undercurrents. His 2024 collaboration with TOMOYU, “Cinta & Balapan”, released via UK/Asia-based label Eastern Margins, is a prime example. Blending the thrill of high-speed racing with the emotional tug of romance, the track is melodic yet mechanical, wild yet reflective.
That same year, he teamed up with Bandung punk band Dongker for “Berdendang di Neraka”, a blistering track that fuses dangdut rhythms, punk guitars, and digital distortion into what press called a "night racing punk" anthem. This rework of Dongker’s original song, “Di Neraka”, was widely praised for its genre-defying energy, with music outlets like Superlive and Beda Magazine highlighting it as one of the most adventurous Indonesian collaborations of the year.
Today, toxicdev! continues to ride a wave of momentum. His participation in Synchronize Festival 2025 further solidifies his place within the country’s next wave of genre-disrupting artists (Medcom.id). With signature tracks like “MAMA BILANG AKU SWAG” and “GOSSIPIN”, “GAYA AKU”, he represents a new generation of Southeast Asian artists boldly redefining electronic music on their own terms.
More tracks and collabs? You bet. toxicdev! is just getting started.
